“Unity in the Essentials; Diversity in the Non-Essentials; and Love in all Things”
Our vision is to be a Word-rooted, Spirit-empowered, and culturally-engaged church that seeks to bring salvation to the lost, healing to the hurting, and the training of leaders to help reach the world for Jesus Christ.
The foundation of all we do is to be Word-rooted, Spirit-empowered, and culturally engaged. In other words, the Word of God is our basis of truth and guidance, the Holy Spirit is our source of power, and our culture should be the place we impact for the glory of God. From that foundation, we have three primary objectives: to see the lost come to faith in Christ through compassionate outreach; to see the hurt healed by the power of Jesus through prayer, discipleship and counseling; and to train up leaders to multiply this vision in many other places. We invite you to join us in the fulfillment of this vision.
Gospel-Centered. We will seek to bring everything back to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Good News of salvation in Him. “I do it all for the sake of the gospel …” 1 Cor. 9:23
Prayer Saturated. As a declaration of dependence on God, we will seek to make prayer the foundation of all we do. “But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:4
Expository Preaching. Preaching through books of the Bible will be our normal way of teaching. “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” 2 Tim. 3:16
Theological Worship. Our worship will combine biblical truth with the freedom of the Spirit. “Those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Jn. 4:24
Authentic Relationships. People are encouraged to be transparent about their struggles and victories. “They overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of their testimony.” Rev. 12:11
Discipleship. We will help people progressively grow in their maturity such that they can assist others in doing the same. “And the things you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2
Word and Spirit. We want God’s Spirit to be free to move, while filtering everything through the Word of God (i.e. Bible). “My speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but indemonstration of the Spirit and of power.” 1 Cor. 2:4
Elder Governance. The plurality of godly elders will be the authoritative leaders of the church. “This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you.” Titus 1:5
Welcoming. We will be proactive about welcoming people of all ethnicities, social status, church backgrounds, etc. “For you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.” Rev. 5:9
Church Planting. We will seek to plant many churches out of this church. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
