At Living Hope Church, we believe in the New Testament gift of prophesy as talked about in 1 Cor. 14:3 and as defined in Dr. Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology.  We will occassionally put things on this page that we believe are from God for our church.  Every “prophetic word” will be submitted to our leadership before we give it to the body or put on our website.  We never consider a “prophetic word” to be equal in authority to Scripture, and it is always evaluated in light of God’s written Word (Bible).    If you have any questions about this, please contact Pastor David at pastordavid@livinghopeathens.og

There will be times!
There will be times when you will feel overwhelmed physically by everything that is coming against you. It is in these times you need to rely on what you KNOW to be true. I will not leave you or forsake you. I am here with you all hours of the day. I am your shield at your right hand. I will stand with you and cover you from the brutal assaults the enemy has designed to destroy you. When these times come, it is imperative for you to be God-inside conscious. Look to The Holy Spirit INSIDE YOU to speak words of guidance and comfort. Don’t let the wind of the enemy’s storms rattle you. Remember Elijah on the mountain. I WAS NOT IN THE WIND! Wind makes a lot of noise and can muss your hair but don’t let it worry you. You are where you are supposed to be. Remember, when you are over the target, you are supposed to get flak!
Satan will bring coordinated attacks using deceit and lies concerning your position in Me and he will rattle his saber to make noises that will scare those who are in the dark. But you are NOT in the dark. You walk in light. The light of The Word will show you where to walk and when. Follow the light in your heart. Listen to the voice of The Holy Spirit and sleep well in the back of the boat with me.

December 10, 2017 (Given in connection with message from Nehemiah 4)

We the church, as Nehemiah did, must multi-task.  We build and we watch.  We are restoring the church in this place, in this generation, to do the works that Jesus did in love, power and authority.  We are to be the light that exposes and dispels the darkness, freeing the captives.  We build with blueprints and instructions from heaven, ignoring the scoffers and those who do not understand our mission.  We see with the eyes of faith and have a mind to work.  We are kingdom-minded, operating out of our royal standing.  We are building with excellence something beautiful to the glory of our God and King.  In the midst of this, we pledge allegiance and prayerful support to Jerusalem (and the land of Israel) that Nehemiah loved and God loves; knowing one day God Himself will reveal His version of the eternal city where we will rule and reign with Him. (Interestingly, it too will have a wall, great and high with twelve gates).

In the meantime, we know our enemy.  We must remain determined and alert.  With the authority of the Masterbuilder, we refuse to let him take what we are blessed with and what belongs to our God.  We don’t look at the natural or our condition.  We take our position and authority.  We are watchmen and soldiers.  When we hear the call to battle, we are suited up and ready, knowing our God will fight for us.  The battle is His.  We know the glorious end.  The war has been won and we are the victors!

Word Given During BRT Time –
I had read Nehemiah 2-6 before praying and listening this morning.
Hear My voice, my beloved. I know your brokenness. Do you not know I am the Restorer of all that is broken? I can and will cover all your guilt and shame. Do not be afraid! I, your God, am at your right hand. I go before you and I make a way for you.
Come, see! Let Me rebuild what is broken. Be still, let Me display My love in your life. I long to take what you offer – your broken hearts – and make them new. You long for true love, let Me give you that and more in abundance.
My children, trust Me. My grace is sufficient. My mercy is never-ending. My peace is complete. Let Me make you whole. You can walk in power – it is available to all who turn to Me. Trust in Me. Walk with Me. Let Me tell you of My love for you!
You think you are lacking something but yet you don’t come to Me. I am Provider and Sustainer. Test Me and see if this is not true.
Beloved, I love you. I have loved you and will love you. I delight in you. Come and sit with Me. Experience the truth of My love. I take care of My sheep. I heal the hurts, I lead to places of rest. Follow My voice.
Beloved, I say again, I love you.

Here is what I (Christen Richardson) saw / sensed during the closing song of worship today (9-18) after Pastor David preached from Hosea 2:14-23. As I watched the pictures unfold, I prayed over our Body at Living Hope. Share it as you deem appropriate.

I sensed that there were some in the crowd who WANTED to believe that they were forgiven, that there was a great exchange made on their behalf, that they were now the blameless bride of Christ…they WANTED to believe this, but somewhere in their mind they thought that if they accepted this position that they were a FRAUD. That the robe of Christ or the bridal gown would just be a cover up, like they were tricking God somehow.

THEN, God showed me a picture of HIM painstakingly stitching the bridal gown together Himself, hand-crafting the lace, sewing on each button, preparing it Himself….we don’t put this dress on ourselves and then come before the Father. We don’t put on a dress to cover over the dirt and death that is underneath. God showed me that HE puts the dress on us. Like a bridesmaid would help the bride, God showed me a tender picture of Him lowering the dress He made for us, over our shoulders, slipping over our waist, turning us around so He could zip up the back and button the small buttons He lovingly sewed on.

He showed me that he is not only the one who helps us get ready for the wedding, but He is also the one waiting at the end of the aisle to receive us! We are NOT FRAUDs who have somehow tricked the King into marrying us. HE HIMSELF HAS PREPARED US and He knows what he is getting into when he marries us. We are not frauds. God has not been tricked.

Lastly, I saw two contrasting pictures: the first was of a beautiful wedding gown that did indeed cover over sickly, skeletal bones filthy with dirt and open wounds. But this was just a dress of shame. It covered these things only on the surface. The second, was the picture again of the Lord lowering the dress HE MADE for us. When he put it on us it didn’t just cover over, it filled out. It filled out and the skin beneath it was made healthy, new, vibrant. The bones now had healthy, meaty flesh on them. The dress didn’t just cover what was underneath, it transformed what was underneath.

“While asking the Lord why all our prayers were not answered for Shirley’s and Carolyn’s healing, I heard, ‘Remember when you were praying with others for them yesterday, you said to Me, ‘We will trust and take rest in Your sovereignty if it’s Your time for them to come home.’ It was My time. I know and see from the beginning to the end and from the end to the beginning. You only know and see in part; only one side of the tapestry. They both are with Me now. For the church, the shared grief will bring you closer, make your hope stronger and your eternal home with me a little sweeter. Until then, let Me cover you with My feathers and empower you to do My bidding. I love you.”

Feb 3, 2015

I Juliet Sekandi believe this is a download that I received from Lord this morning February 3, 2015 and I strongly felt to share it during our Tuesday group prayer time at Living Hope Church.

Reading Acts 2: 4-12 – The Holy spirit strongly highlighted verses 6-8 “When they heard this sound a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his own language” Utterly amazed, they asked: Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans? Then how is that each of us hears them in his own native language?

I asked the Lord, what did these languages mean and how can we apply them in a practical way today?? At this point I remembered “the five Love languages” and how they are a powerful way to communicate love to children and individuals. I believe the Lord began to give me this revelation for application. He showed me that first of all the Holy Spirit enabled Christ followers to speak the new tongues, they stepped out of the four walls (i.e the upper room) and they went out to the community around them in Jerusalem. Even though the sound was LOUD, the people were drawn/ attracted to the disciples because they each heard something that was familiar to them, their languages.

Practical application: Each segment of people in our Jerusalem (Athens & beyond) have their own language that will clearly speak to them.

  1. The homeless and lonely- have a language that speaks to their deep need for love and physical needs
  2. The poor and hungry –have a language to feed them
  3. The bound in alcohol and substance addictions—language to lead them to deliverance
  4. The sick (physically and emotionally) – healing, comfort, help etc
  5. The lost and desperate- message of hope in Jesus
  6. The troubled and discouraged—encouragement etc

Prayer: God may you please empower us by the Holy Spirit to do what you have called us to do, to speak the languages of our community/Jerusalem in these areas and more. Lord, may everything we do be enveloped in your Love and Compassion. I sensed God’s response to be “ I will do this work by raising up teams of people I have called to respond strategically by speaking these languages in this community where I have place you as a church, LHC. The harvest is plenty but the laborers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers in the field. Matt: 9: 37-38. Example, the homeless can be restored so that they can help those who are homeless, etc

Then in the same time the Lord reminded me of a vision he gave me at the time at WFBC in 2013 when the pastor prayed on the group sent to LHC. I saw, a very tall lampstand with a very bright light in the middle of the LHC parking lot and a multitude of people were walking from many different directions and converging towards the light as if being attracted by it. Matt 5:14-16 _ you’re the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither people light a lamp and put it under a bowl………….16 Let you light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
