Need Hope? The good news we offer at Living Hope is this:

1. God created you, knows you, and wants you to have a relationship with Him. John 3:16

2. However, we have each gone our own way and broken God’s laws. Romans 3:23

3. God is holy and just, and therefore, must punish our sin. Nahum 1:3

4. God sent His Son, Jesus, to live a perfect life and pay the divine penalty for our sin. 2 Corinthians 5:21

5. Through Jesus, we can be forgiven and made right with God. Colossians 2:13-15

6. In order to be forgiven and restored to God, we must turn from our sin (repent), trust in Christ alone, and receive Him as the Forgiver and Leader of our lives. Acts 20:21; John 1:12

7. You can repent and receive Christ right now. Here is a suggested prayer to guide you:

“Lord Jesus, I need you. I admit that I am a sinner and have not been living for You. Thank You for dying for my sin. I turn from my sin and trust in Your death and resurrection to save me from my sin. Come into my life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be. Fill me with the Holy Spirit so that I might live for You. Amen.”

8. Once you receive Christ, you grow in your relationship with God by:

- Spending time with God reading your Bible and praying ever day. Jeremiah 29:11-13; 2 Timothy 3:16
- Asking God to fill you with His Holy Spirit. Ephesians 5:18
- Depending on Jesus for every need you have. Philippians 4:19
- Obeying God’s Word. John 14:15
- Meeting with other Christ-followers for encouragement and support. Hebrews 10:24-25
- Sharing the Good News of Jesus with others. Mathew 28:18-20
- Quickly confessing and turning from sin in your life. 1 John 1:9
- Being baptized as a way of demonstrating that you are a follower of Jesus. Acts 2:41-47

9. If you are a follower of Jesus and struggling to have hope, consider this:

- God knows and feels your pain. 2 Corinthians 1:3-8
- God cares about every detail of your life. 1 Peter 5:6
- Jesus wants you to turn to Him in your hardship. Mathew 11:28
- God’s power is greater than any challenge you face. 1 John 4:4
- There is always hope because God can make a way in the desert. Romans 15:13
- Read the book of Psalms for encouragement.
- Seek the help of a godly friend, pastor, or biblical counselor if you need it. Hebrews 10:24-25

Let us know if we can help you in any way with your relationship with God. We want you to have hope!
