Missions at Living Hope
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD
as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14
We believe and support the mandate to take the gospel to the nations. It is our desire to send out missionaries from Living Hope Church in a manner worthy of God and to have our body become fellow workers for this kingdom work by partnering with our missionaries in various parts of the world through care, support (in prayer as well as financial means), and short term trips. We are also active in mobilizing, sending, as well as going and welcoming those who come from other nations to Athens to study and live.
We define “missions” based on Acts 1:8 and Mathew 28:18-20. Missions is reaching those who do not know Jesus and are outside of our direct influence as a church, beginning with Jerusalem and moving out to our Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth. We want to be strategic in this kingdom endeavor by giving greater priority to those places and ministries that are the neediest and have the least resources.
We believe this is a partnership process. First, we are partnered with God – it is His mission first and foremost. Second, we are partnered with those leaders we have trained and sent out, our “family” in distant places. And finally, we are partnered with sending organizations and ministries who are of like mind and belief.
Living Hope provides opportunities for members to engage in missions at various levels and we plan cross-cultural activities ranging from local to the reaches of the 10/40 Window. See the list of currently planned trips:
